THE APHASIA CIRCLE

Aphasia (n):

  • Caused by an injury to the brain (e.g., stroke, tumor, brain injury, infection)
  • An impairment of language that can impact speaking, understanding, reading, and writing skills, but does NOT affect intelligence

Welcome to The Aphasia Circle.

 The Aphasia Circle provides stimulating and supportive aphasia group sessions, designed to maximize the recovery of communication and cognitive skills for adult individuals living with aphasia. 


Our small aphasia groups provide a functional and cost-effective way for individuals with aphasia in the Phoenix metro-area to receive services beyond the initial period of recovery, in order to further improve their communication skills and quality of life.  


Individual speech therapy sessions are also available. 


We focus on meaningful communication, with your goals at the center.

What to Expect

Aphasia groups focus on improving areas of language like listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Aphasia groups focus on functional communication related to different interests and goals, leading to meaningful re-engagement in life.

Aphasia support group in arizona.

Connect with other persons in Arizona with aphasia who truly understand your journey. Grow communication confidence in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Sessions developed and led by a certified and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist, and trained assistants.

Small groups of no more than 7 adult group members.

All aphasia groups run for 6 weeks at a time, with the option to participate in 1 or more different groups a week.
